ANTIQUE SANTA FE LARGE LETTER 1897 A&W RAILROAD LANTERN RED GLOBE

SANTA FE LARGE LETTER....looks like patent Sept 21, 1897 May ?? 1908? perhaps....A&W RAILROAD LANTERN WITH RED GLOBE
. Just a really neat Santa Fe lantern up for bids! Adams & Westlake frame/casing embossed on the lid in large letters "SANTA FE" with the letter "A". The frame/casing has some signs of tarnish from over the years....not a deal breaker.  I am not well versed in this area but it appears to be in original condition with the exception of what looks like maybe some welding on the handles.... Comes with a very nice red globe....no chips or cracks. ...the red glass is kind of tiered. A nice addition to any collection. Feel free to ask questions before bidding and I will do my best to answer. I have another one of these

Not original at all. The part that retains the upper part of the globe is not original and it looks like the coffee basket from a coffee percolator. The Fresnel globe appears to be from another type of lantern. The original type globe for this lantern would be a nominal 5 -3/8 inches tall. The current globe may be 3 -1/4 inches tall.
