From an Estate Sale of 1920's - 1950's CRYSTAL & CHINA, we offer from the CENTRAL GLASS MANUFACTORY in Wheeling, W. Virginia, a MOST STUNNING #2020  5 1/2" high by 4 3/4" diameter base AMBER CANDLESTICK(made from 1933-1939) with a "LOTUS DECORATING"(of Barnesville, Ohio) GOLD & SILVER ENCRUSTED DESIGN ON BASE, of a WIDE SILVER ENCRUSTED GEOMETRIC ETCHED WIDE BAND FRAMED BY TWO GOLD ENCRUSTED ETCHED SCROLLWORK BANDS. Gold Trim around candle cup and around wide disc beneath cup. HEXAGON BULBOUS LAYERED & WAFERED STEM.
This 81-100 YEAR OLD candlestick is in excellent condition without any cracks, chips, nicks or stains; with very little use to be seen. GOLD & SILVER ENCRUSTED ETCHED DESIGN ON TOP OF BASE IS ALMOST COMLETELY INTACT - LITTLE AGE RELATED WEAR TO THE GOLD TRIM AROUND THE EDGE OF THE BASE.
ATTRIBUTION/PROVENANCE: this shape/size candlestick is shown in the Stoer set of Candlestick books and the Schmidt Central Glass book referenced below, as a Central Glass #2020 candlestick.
PRICING GUIDELINES: this #2020 shape candlestick is quite scarce with only one sale(green with an etch) in the past 15 years. Even the author of the Central Glass reference book couldn't find an sctual exsmple of this candlestick.
